The midfielder, who joined Dale a month ago, netted the opener in Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Shrewsbury Town.
“It was definitely one to remember, being my first goal,” Adeeko commented.
“I didn’t score many at Wigan, so it’s good to get that first goal out of the way, and hopefully I can continue that.
“I just remember the ball falling to me. The goalkeeper was looking to see where the ball was, so I knew if I kept it on the ground, he wouldn’t be able to see it.
“It was a very good performance all round. We had a lot of the ball and showed everything that we worked on during the week.
“It’s a really big relief. We’ve been working on that plan since I came in and we perfected it today, so it was good.”
The 23-year-old made almost 100 appearances for Wigan Athletic before joining Dale this summer, and has credited Head Coach Ian Watson for instilling belief into him.
“I normally play as a six, but this time I’m playing in the eight, so I’m getting the ball a bit further up.
“It’s box-to-box, but it’s really helped that he [Ian Watson] has put that confidence in me to link up the play and get goals.
“I’ve settled in really well. The lads are brilliant. From my first day, they were so good to me. Coming into a group that did so well last season, you can see the togetherness in the group, and I think that really showed today.”
