The 23-year-old joins from League One side Wigan Athletic, penning a one-year deal.
Adeeko, who featured almost 100 times for the Tics across five seasons, commented:
“I’m happy and delighted that it’s finally done.
“The coaches told me what the want to achieve this season and how they want to play which really suits my game.
“Me and Jonny (Smith) sat next to each other in the changing rooms (at Wigan), I talked to him before I came and he had nothing but good things to say about the club.
“I can’t wait to be on the pitch.”
Head Coach Ian Watson added:
“We’re delighted to get Baba in.
“He’s played a lot of games in League One and has been an amazing player at Wigan.
“We think he can push this club in the direction we want to go in.
“Out of possession he gives us that steel, he can handle the ball well and we hope he can progress to an even better footballer here.”
Born in Ireland to Nigerian parents, Adeeko grew up in Ballybane, Galway. There, he played for local side Mervue United, before moving to England at the age of 13.
It was then that he joined Wigan’s Academy, rising through the ranks to pen a professional contract in June 2021.
He made his First Team debut in an EFL Cup tie in 2021, before appearing in the league for the first time on the opening day of 2023/24 campaign.
Adeeko has made 80 League One appearances in total and has also represented Republic of Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
