Hannant, who made his debut in our win over Tamworth, is a player that brings characteristics that can help the team, says McNulty.
“Luke’s got high quality, I think that’s kind of proven in his goal involvements in the last couple of seasons.
“He’s gone and played a number of games in the EFL with Oldham, which he’s already done with Colchester and Port Vale prior to being at Gateshead.
“He’s got proven quality and polish in the final third.”
The 32-year-old slots into an area which McNulty admits is one of recent concern due to injuries and international commitments.
“It’s a situation at the moment which is a little bit abnormal in the wing position for us, with Tobi (Adebayo-Rowling) and Pritch (Joe Pritchard) out.
“Tarryn (Allarakhia)’s going away with Tanzania and Bryant Bilongo, we’ve just had news he’s out for six weeks.
“I think we really needed some help in the wide positions and I think the team deserves the support at this time.”
Our Head Coach also provided the news that David Tutonda will be unavailable for the next week or so due to a family bereavement.
“Dave will now leave us for around nine-ish days.
“Unfortunately, he’s got a family bereavement and he’s travelling with his wider family back to Africa.
“Our thoughts are with him on that. Dave is an unbelievable teammate and has always been there for the team and putting them first.
“In this moment we have to support Dave and make sure he puts himself first for a change.”
Everyone at Rochdale Football Club’s thoughts and condolences are with Dave and his family at this difficult time.
