Speaking ahead of the players’ return to pre-season next week, the Head Coach believes their ability will add much-needed strength in depth.
“First and foremost, the two core principles of players that I’ve signed, whether right or wrong, is that they’ve got to be a good person and a good player,” commented McNulty.
“I can’t express enough how important being a good person is. I do like to meet all the players personally. I don’t think a phone call to the other end of the country suffices. I’ve got to meet them, see if it fits with the group, and I think both of them certainly do.
“They are valued additions to the football club at different stages of their career.
“Bryce [Hosannah] has had some success in the National League already with some brilliant attributes.
“He will certainly help us down either flank, and it’ll give our guys, who played so much there last year, an opportunity to breathe sometimes by competitively pushing to be in the starting eleven, just like them.
“Dan Moss is one of the most humble players you’ll ever meet and is a far better player than he will ever like to admit.
“There were a number of reasons it worked, geography being one. Dan wanted to get back in the region where he is from and wanted to start the next chapter of his career at a club that aligns with his ambitions also.
“He can play a number of positions and is a well-respected National League player with a good amount of games under his belt.
“They both give us a depth to our squad which so many teams benefited from doing last season.
“That’s part of our growth. Last year, the strongest teams were really strong way into the depths of their squad. Into the depths of our squad, you want those guys to be as good as the guys that are starting. We’ve got brilliant players who started loads of games last season, but we want as many of those as possible throughout our ranks.”
