Head Coach Jimmy McNulty and Fylde’s Interim Manager David Longwell laid flowers in the centre circle, whilst Joe’s former teammate Ian Henderson and club captain Ethan Ebanks-Landell laid a THOMPSON 15 shirt down.
This was followed by a short reading about Joe, before the Crown Oil Arena stood for a minute’s applause in his memory, with members of Joe’s family watching on from the dugout area.
Dale players all wore shirts with THOMPSON printed on above their assigned 24/25 squad number, whilst the ground then rose in the 15th minute to pay respects again.
