The 26-year-old started our visit to York City last midweek, after grabbing a brace in our victory at Boston United, but was forced off before half-time at the LNER Community Stadium. He was absent from the squad for Saturday’s game.
It’s confirmed that Smith has suffered a muscle injury and Jimmy McNulty realises it’s a blow for the team.
“We had a scan report on Tyler and it’s probably worse than we thought unfortunately”, says the Dale Head Coach.
“It’s a real shame as he just got into the groove that we wanted to see from him.
“We think at this stage it will be something between six and eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
“I know he’ll do everything to be back as soon as he can.”
He has made five appearances since his return for a second spell at the beginning of October, netting twice to secure three points at Boston United.
Tyler joins Anthony Gomez-Mancini on the treatment table.
Dale are next in action on the road this Saturday when we head to Tamworth, click HERE for ticketing details.
