THE OPPOSITION
Boston won promotion from the National League North last season via a playoff final win against Brackley Town in May. The Pilgrims were 2-1 winners after finishing sixth in the table.
They have since parted ways with their then manager Ian Culverhouse, appointing Graham Coughlan, who has won two league games in charge since his appointment, both 3-1 home wins. Two of Boston’s four wins this season have come against York City after a 2-0 win at the LNER back in August. Despite Jacob Hazel’s seven goals the Lincolnshire side boast the unwanted record of the league’s second lowest scorers (24).
Boston do have a former Dale man in their ranks in Daniel Adshead. The midfielder has made three league appearances although has now been ruled out due to a fractured tibia which will see him on the sidelines for a lengthy period. In their first season back at this level in over 20 years, they find themselves second from bottom and seven points adrift from safety with 15 defeats from 26.
HEAD TO HEAD
This will be our 14th meeting with Boston, having won seven, drawn three and lost three.
Our most recent fixture came on the first game of the season with a convincing 3-0 away win for Dale thanks to Devante Rodney’s brace and Ian Henderson’s stoppage time third.
