Rochdale Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced defender Liam Hogan.
The 35-year-old joins on a deal until the end of the season after leaving neighbours Oldham Athletic.
Hogan, brother of former Dale striker Scott, says he is hungry to show what he can bring to the club.
“Rochdale are a club that I have kept my eye on for a while,” commented Hogan.
“I’m happy to come and get this done at a really important part of my career now. Physically I’m in a good position. I still feel like I’ve got loads of attributes I can bring.
“My experience at this level and around this league will hopefully be important.
“I’m interested and intrigued to work under the manager and his strong beliefs on what the football should look like.
“I’m really hungry to express the capabilities I have, trying to promote good habits, being an organiser and take pride in my duels.”
Hogan signed for FC Halifax Town in 2010 after spending time at local club Woodley Sports.
The Shaymen won promotion to the National League North in his first season, before the defender joined Fleetwood Town in 2013.
Spells at Macclesfield Town, Tranmere Rovers and Gateshead followed, after which he helped Salford City to two consecutive promotions as they reached the EFL for the first time.
A move to Stockport County followed, where Hogan again won promotion from the National League in 2022.
He joined Oldham that summer, making over 80 appearances in just over two seasons, before leaving by mutual consent on Friday.
Hogan will wear number 26 during his time at the club.
