The 22-year-old has penned a short-term deal and goes straight into the squad for today’s trip to Aldershot Town.
He will replace Luke McNicholas, who has picked up a short-term injury.
Robson, who played 45 minutes in Dale’s pre-season match at Macclesfield this summer, commented:
“I got a call earlier this week saying that Luke had picked up an injury and I jumped at the chance to come in.
“Having played in that match at Macclesfield, I already know a little bit about how the gaffer wants to play which helps.
“The three games in a week that are upcoming will only help too. I’m looking forward to it.”
Robson is a product of Hull City’s Academy, joining in 2017 and progressing through the ranks before signing a professional contract in December 2019.
He spent time on loan at a number of local clubs, including Stocksbridge Park Steels and Farsley Celtic.
In the summer of 2022, he joined Crawley Town on loan, where he made his league debut, before spending time at Darlington and Gainsborough Trinity last season.
