The midfielder scored the opener in the first round victory, which he says Dale can take confidence from.
“It’s a victory that we needed,” commented Hannant.
“The last couple of weeks, results haven’t been going for us. We know we haven’t been good enough, conceding too many goals, so we wanted to come here today and rectify that.
“We did that really well, starting the game well and going up 1-0. They got the goal back, but the boys who came off the bench were superb. In previous weeks we might have fallen under the pressure a little bit, so to come out with a win is really pleasing.
“I think we’ve got to keep that momentum now. We can’t change anything in the past so there’s no point in worrying.
“It’s about taking what we can from today’s game, which was loads of positives, compared to previous weeks.
“So it’s just about going into training this week, working hard and taking a lot of confidence from today’s win.”
