We Changed The Game – Gilmour

Harvey Gilmour admits that Dale rode their luck in the 90 minutes but can see the improvements in the second period.

A Dale equaliser just shy of the hour mark ensured Dale made it five unbeaten but Harvey says the halves were levels apart.

“I thought first-half we didn’t start well at all and they could’ve been three or four up.

“At the minute we’re getting that luck, we came in at half-time and the gaffer told us a few home truths.

“We come out (in the second) and we just changed the game and how we attack it. The lads showed in the second-half what the gaffer wants from us and we put it right.

“You could see the change in tempo and attitude; it was a good point.”

Dajaune netted following a fine team move, one which caught the eye of the midfielder.

“You can see we were getting more chances, the goal is perfect and is a pure example of how the gaffer wants it.

“However, we have to do miles better in the 90 minutes.

“He (Ian Watson) knows how good we are and how good we can be and it’s about having the belief.”

The 27-year-old was part of a defensive unit to secure a point, involving a crucial block to stop a certain Tranmere winner.

“I’ve been here four years now, I think all the lads would do the same. Flinty has been absolutely excellent at that, Nils has been excellent in goal so it was just my time to block a shot.

“It shows the courage and attitude we have, we want to win but we need confidence and I’m sure we’ll get there.

“You can see in each game we’re getting more and more confident. The gaffer wants to see it for the 90 minutes, not just glimpses.

“We just need to try and rectify that.”
