Following our well-documented winter rebuild, we now have a foundation beneath the surface of the pitch which should serve the Club for decades to come.
To ensure the standard of our playing surface remains high, the annual renovations will continue. Working alongside our advisors, OBI Sports, and contractors, Mallinson, this summer’s works have taken place this week.
This has seen the top layer of the surface and the existing sand removed, right down to the synthetic carpet underneath. The fibres of this carpet, some of which are flattened due to the pitch usage and the ongoing work, have been brushed back into an upright position. New, fresh sand has been laid on top of the carpet, which has now been seeded.
We are expecting to see the first signs of growth in the next week, with the first cut planned for mid-June. We’ll bring you progress updates through the summer.
