THE OPPOSITION
Overview – Both of our league games were played within just over a month of each other in 2026, with the latter ending in a 2-2 draw at the Attis Arena in late March. Andy Butler’s side always seemed a dead cert for the playoffs around that time but their form did fizzle out towards the end of the regular season with just one win from their last five matches with two defeats and two draws in that time. They threw form out the window on Tuesday with an impressive win over Southend United, with top scorer Callum Roberts firing early to separate the sides. It’s a second straight playoff campaign after promotion last season, an 82 point haul this term which would’ve been good enough to finish third last campaign in the National League.
