Pitch Works Complete

Work on the Crown Oil Arena playing surface has been completed, ahead of Tuesday's National League Cup tie against Stoke City Under-21s.

Starting last Monday, the centre of the pitch has been completely replaced.

Work began to excavate a square covering the centre of the pitch, to a depth of 200mm, before the area was filled with sand.

Fresh turf was installed on top of the new material, followed by the area being restitched – the insertion of synthetic fibres – over the weekend.

On Wednesday, the pitch will be Dryjected, a process which assists in allowing any retained water the best possible chance of draining through.

A timeline of pictures can be found below, which details each stage of the work undertaken.
