The 21-year-old has penned a two-year deal following his departure from Salford City last season.
Humbles made over 30 appearances in the National League last season, having spent time on loan with Altrincham and Gateshead.
“I’m delighted to be here,” he commented.
“It’s a massive club that deserves to be back in the league. I spoke to the gaffer and it’s a project that I wanted to be a part of.
“When I spoke to him about three or four weeks ago, it didn’t take me long to think about it. He ran me through the overall philosophy and how he likes to play.
“I played here a few months ago [with Gateshead] and we didn’t have a lot of the ball, so I knew it was something that would interest me. I’m really excited to get going now.”
Head Coach Jimmy McNulty added: “Liam is a very good player. He can play in multiple positions, which is probably a bit of a theme with the signings that we’ve made so far.
“He is a talented midfielder who can pass and dribble. He has begun to add some goals to his career which can continue to flourish as he matures.
“He really suits the way we play and is a player who can definitely play in the EFL. I hope we can get there together.”
The Miami-born midfielder joined AFC Wimbledon after moving to England at the age of 14. He then joined Salford City’s academy as a scholar and made the step up to their Elite Development Squad in 2022.
His first loan move took him to Nantwich Town in the following March before a return to the Ammies saw him make his professional debut in September 2023.
Humbles scored his first senior goal in a 2-2 draw with Swindon Town a month later at the Peninsula Stadium, appearing eight further times in League Two to close out the 2023/24 season.
Last year, he linked up with National League side Altrincham on an initial one-month loan, which was extended until December, making 11 appearances for the Robins in total.
Prior to Christmas, he caught the attention of Gateshead, where he went on to feature 21 times and scored in the Heed’s win at Forest Green in April.
