The defender is now contracted with Dale until the summer of 2026, extending his stay by another year.
“I’m buzzing,” commented Gordon.
“There’s no other place where I’d rather play my football right now. The gaffer and the staff believe in me, and I just want to repay that faith.
“I enjoy playing for him [Jimmy McNulty] and I’ve told a few of my family members that it’s the happiest I’ve been in years, so it’s a no-brainer for me.
“I’m happy to commit my future to the club and I’m looking forward to kicking on again. We’ve had a good pre-season and we’re ready to go now.”
Gordon joined Dale in January of this year, signing a deal until the end of the season.
He made 19 appearances, starting in every match for which he was available, throughout the remainder of the 23/24 campaign.
An option to extend his contract by one year was triggered earlier this summer, with this further extension coming ahead of our opening game of the season on Saturday.
The Sheffield United Academy graduate has also featured as captain in a number of pre-season friendlies this summer.
