Goalkeeper Nils Ramming Loaned In

Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Nils Ramming.

The 19-year-old joins the club on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ramming, who is a Swedish youth international, commented:

“I’m excited to be here.

“The chats I had were all positive, and the style of play speaks to me a lot, which I’m looking forward to.

“It’s not every day you get to meet the boys in Spain on a training camp, and I can’t wait for the next few days.”

Head Coach Ian Watson also said:

“We’re delighted to get Nils over the line, and I’d like to thank Brighton for being so accommodating.

“He was one of our top targets for the goalkeeping position. Josh [Lillis] and I have watched a lot of him, and we kept pushing to bring him in. We’ve had to be patient with the goalkeeper situation because we know how important it is for us.

“He’s very calm with his feet, which we have to be with the style that we play. He understands that, being from Brighton, and he’s obviously very good at keeping the ball out of the net.”

Ramming began his footballing journey at a soccer academy based in his birthplace London, before he switched to Leyton Orient’s youth setup until the age of ten.

From there, he spent time in Germany with Hessen Dreieich and Eintracht Frankfurt, starring for the Bundesliga side’s reserve team.

In the 2024/25 season, Nils featured in four of Frankfurt’s Europa League matchday squads, the same year he made his debut for Sweden in the youth development.

In summer 2025, Brighton secured the services of the shot-stopper to join their Under-21 side, signing a five-year deal. He played twice in the EFL Trophy, with the Seagulls finishing 12th in Premier League 2.

Welcome to the Crown Oil Arena, Nils!
