THE ROCHDALE AFC CLUB ADVISORY BOARD
The Club Advisory Board (CAB) is comprised of Club and supporter representatives, and it focuses on the following three areas:
COMMUNICATION
Improving communication between the Club and its fans. Providing a forum where issues, questions and concerns can be raised by a wide spectrum of fan representatives and the Club can provide detailed responses.
ENGAGEMENT
Encouraging input from fans and better engagement between the Club and its fans on key projects and initiatives. These will include matters which arise on a regular basis during the football calendar, such as kit launches and ticket pricing, but also more strategic larger scale projects which the Club hopes to take forward in the coming years.
GROWTH
Enlisting the support and involvement of fans to help the Club grow its fanbase with a particular focus on increasing the participation of young people, women, families and other poorly represented groups and demographics. This will be one of the key conduits through which the Club will explore how best to make progress on its aspirational Project 5000.
COMPOSITION OF THE CAB
Representatives from the Club include directors, executive management, the Club disability liaison officer and the director of the Rochdale AFC Community Trust.
We would like to ensure there is strong representation from our existing, more typical fanbase as well as those types of fans from groups we would like to engage with more in the future. The number and categories of fan representatives may change over time.
Fan representative roles are as follows:
- Hospitality Representative
- Community Representative
- Rochdale Supporters Club
- Youth Representatives
- Her Game Too Representatives and Female Fans
- Stand Representatives (Pearl Street, Sandy Lane and Main Stand)
- Exile Representative
- Fundraising Representative (Dale1907)
WORKINGS OF THE CAB
This is a new venture and the exact workings of the CAB will evolve over time currently CAB operates as follows:
- The CAB meet at the Crown Oil Arena after work hours at least every 2 months during the season. Ideally, all members attend in person, but we will have Teams functionality in place if needed.
- The CAB meets as and when necessary to deal with specific matters or events as they arise.
- The Agenda of CAB meetings follows the three core pillars and are split into the following sections:
- Communication – where issues can be raised and discussed and feedback provided by the Club representatives and the Club can update fan representatives on relevant new.
- Engagement – where the Club can seek input into current projects and initiatives.
- Growth – where the group will focus on efforts to broaden the fanbase.
- All meetings are minuted and these minutes will be published on a dedicated page on the Club’s website so that all fans can have visibility over the content of the meetings.
- In between meetings, the fan representatives have direct access to the Club so that any pressing issues can be raised and dealt with in a timely manner.
- The CAB do also have a code of conduct in place that can be found HERE.
